Are you Weekend 1? Weekend 2? Or "CouchChella?"

One of the world’s most prominent and popular music festivals happens just south of Los Angeles. If you don’t plan to be in the desert, but still love a good musical spectacle, be sure to check out the Coachella Live Stream on YouTube starting at 4 p.m. on Friday and throughout the weekend. The L.A. Phil, conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, made its Coachella debut last weekend, with an eclectic program of recognizable classical music and a bevy of special guests including rapper L.L. Cool J. Three UCLA adjunct faculty members from the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music —J im Miller (trombone), Boris Allakhverdyan (clarinet) and Chris Hanulik (string bass) — were part of that performance and will return to Indio Saturday for another magical sunset set on Coachella’s Outdoor Theater stage.
“There was a lot of energy and enthusiasm about the performance,” Miller said. “I think the novelty of it all was a great draw and people seemed to enjoy the variety we offered.”
UCLA school of music students Julian Johnson (trumpet) and Berkeley High alumni Camille Kerani (tenor sax) and Steven Schlosberg (trombone) serve as horn section for retro-soul band Thee Sacred Souls, which performs Friday afternoon on the Coachella Main stage. (Read more about them in this article in the San Francisco Chronicle).
Other must-see moments (in person or from the couch): marvel at the sheer artistic magnitude of Lady Gaga and her “opera house in the desert” (Friday); primal scream with The Prodigy (Friday); revel in a “keep art human” message with Urban Theory choreography providing visuals for Brazilian DJ Alok (Saturday); bounce to the pure infectious joy of Yo Gabba Gabba and special guests (Saturday—trust, it just works!); groove to the eclectic spectacle from brit collective Basement Jaxx (Sunday) and hang with stylish rapper/country star Shaboozey (Sunday).
